Anyone Think This 1957 Mantle will Bump to 8.5?

Good question. I looked at that one earlier in the week and did think too much of it. After looking at it again it seems pretty decent and maybe has a shot. Top/bottom centering could be better, and I like it the more I see it.

I would think that the left edge would keep it from bumping, but definitely one of the better 8's.

Top to bottom centering will preclude a bump.

I was interested in it as an 8, but could not justify chasing it that high.

FWIW I don't see it as an 8.5, but based on what it realized it seems like

there were a least a few people who did

My checklist for this card is R/L centering, clear registration, T/B centering, and corners. This card has nice L/R centering but the other three criteria are subpar. I find the T/B centering distracting with those thicker white borders. I wouldn't be willing to go up the ladder for this example.

Beautiful card but I think the top right corner keeps it in an 8 holder.

As usual, scan doesn't really show card well enough to make a determination. I would say it is properly graded, but you never can tell.
