Communion Medal

(What's a "Topic Summary?) Anyway,

One of my long-term interests is Herbemont, who flourished mostly in the first half of the 20th century. He was known for a soft style in his creations. I haven't seen a new one in awhile, but this one popped up on eBay. In fact, shortly thereafter, two more new ones appeared, but I have bids outstanding in some auctions, so purchases are on hold. so . . .

ECCE!

Something is wrong. The image is not posting.

Your link doesn't bring up an image. Can you check?

What an interesting piece. Hadn't seen this plaque before; the obverse is really striking - almost Byzantine. I assume that the blank area on the reverse was for engraving details of some sort (e.g., first communion, etc). Thanks for sharing.

edited to add: too nice not to have pix, hope this overcomes the "improved" new software...
