Yet another example of how iconic vintage HOF'ers have a different set of rules. If the card enters the Mt. Rushmore conversation for their respected sport you can throw away the book when it comes to market value. Basically market value is whatever someone is willing to pay and has no definition at this point in time.

Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona.

  • He was a decent player for the Dodgers, but I totally agree. That's a ridiculous price for any of his cards.
I'm a big Nolan Ryan fan OK???!!!

There were numerous print flaws on that 8, which leaves me scratching my head (could be dandruff).

Where did you see another 8 auctioned recently? Last one I saw was over $20,000 but that was six months ago maybe?
I am buying and trading for RC's of Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan, Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jerry West, and Bob Cousy!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

Yeah, I'm really happy I sold a PSA 8 earlier this year for $8K. UGH.

BTW - I had it posted on this board for that price and no one bit for a long time, so everyone (except one smart person) missed the boat too!

WOW these cards are acting like internet stocks.

That is amazing that it sat at $8,000 and then a few months later an example sells for $33,000.

The nice thing obviously about collectibles is it only takes two.
