I am not an expert but I do notice the white line down the edge next to Koosman and the light/different coloring on the back. I would say yes. Begsu should chime in on this one.

Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona.

Too bad Bobbi W isn't around. He was an expert on this subject image
  • The spot on the bill of Ryan's cap seems to be a feature of at least a few of them. I sold a couple raw examples this summer which included the same spot on the cap.

    Good looking MB card.

I put my MB set together a card at a time and found it often hard to tell from just a scan. I think that is why PSA is reluctant to grade them. Unless you have one of each in hand I think it would be hard to tell for a grader not experienced with the issue. Same for the 62 green tints.

Possibly, but there is usually less burlap border on the koosman side and the white line is more clearly defined. That white line doesn't seem ruler straight to me like it should. Could be, but I wouldn't bet on it

He's on the Net54 boards if you, or anyone else, needs educating on sports cards. He's a busy guy, so I'd try to limit your questions.

Possibly, but more likely one of the posters in this thread notified him. "And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for you meddling kids!"

Those BVG's are not easy to move for a higher price when it comes to the Milton Bradley. There was a BVG 6.5 not long ago w/ BIN at $389. I took a chance and picked it up, but upon inspection I did not see it getting higher than a 5 from PSA, maybe 5.5 at the most w/ tons of luck by the grade but still doubtful. At that condition, once you factored in the cost of grading fees for the crossover plus ebay and paypal fees, the former BVG 6.5 would have been a net loss with what I could have made on a 5 or 5.5 PSA MB Ryan. So I flipped it in its BVG holder for $550 before fees, which was I felt a good price since most offers were below $475. Therefore, I would say that $340 for a BVG 4 MB Ryan is overpaying.

This is pretty lame if that is what actually happened. I don't view this as an ethical issue where the price tag lost a few zeros (N.Ryan RC story) or dishonestly purchasing something extremely valuable for next to nothing from someone who does not know any better.

I doubt this is the case. Not like we're talking about a seller losing out on thousands of dollars. I've reached out to a few sellers where it looked like they could lose out big time, just to give them a heads up. If I had made a mistake in a listing I would like to think there are people who would look out for fellow collectors rather than see them lose out. If I went to a table and a guy had a Gretzky rookie for $25 thinking it was his second year card, I'd tell him what he has rather than buy and flip.
