The Duke's complete my Bowman Snider run. I expected a 4 on the 53, but oh well.
Stoked on the 56 Mantle. Bought it 8-10 years ago.
The 57 Aaron and 58 Clemente were cards I've had since youth. While they don't necessarily fit well from a centering perspective into my Player sets, I will not be upgrading them as they are essentially the cards that started the respective player collections and are rich with sentimental value.
Bummed on the 62 Koufax. It was an SGC 5 crack-out, pedigreed from Collector's Collection (whatever that means) that measured fine to me. This one will go back in on my next bulk. The 63 Koufax was a SGC 7 crackout, and I'm fine with the 6.5 as that's what I expected.
Both Banks were from childhood too, and will fill spots within my player collection as well.
Both the Reggie and the Ozzie came from the same pack. I was pretty sure both would 9, but left room that the Ozzie might 8. I have no idea how it got a 5. This will likely be heading back as well.
I thought Griffey had a shot at 9, but no such luck.
Too Tall was really nice. I expected a 9. The Payton came from the same pack. It's dead-centered, but had a small corner touch and a gum stain on back. I did NOT check the NQ box, and was expecting an 8 or 9 ST...no idea how this came back a 4...also likely making a return visit.
Staubach completes my player collection.

Well...that's that

Here's the Ozzie:

Jim, you had some nice cards as a kid! Those are some good grades for vintage cards from a childhood collection. I only had one gradable card from the vintage cards I had as a kid (a 1961 McCovey). Congrats on some of your wins. I thought the Griffey was a 9 too if that is the one from your factory set rip. I would check the surface of the Ozzie as it seems impossible for that to be a 5 unless there is some sort of wrinkle or other surface problem. Have you tried taking some of the stain off of the Payton. Too bad that card didn't switch place with the Too Tall Jones. The centering on the Payton is amazing for that card and if it had been in place of the Jones in the pack, what might have been... Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jim, it's easy to focus on the head scratchers, but I see some really nice grades in that lot too. Congrats on the 56 Mick and 63 Koufax, among others!
