A timely(?) self-cherrypick. . .

Bought a raw 1842 Medium Date Seated Half about a year ago, and put it aside until it went in for grading a several months ago. Got it back in a PCGS-40 holder just in time for the fall show season. After having taken it to several shows without any inquiries, I picked it up for another look. And it happened. It had gone unrecognized as the WB-106 Repunched & Errant Misplaced Date variety. Can you say R5 ?







The top loop of the 8 is also errantly misplaced in Liberty's gown to the right of the foot.

Back in the 80's I was purchasing roils o BU Lincolns by date with a goal of having a complete roll set from 1941 to present. I purchased a majority of my rolls from Virg Marshall out of Wymore Nebraska at what I felt were reasonable prices.



I'd never really gone through the rolls until recently when I found this one:















I sold that 1947 DDO for way more than I paid for the roll.

Nice, gotta love cherry picks even if its not your own. Had a customer pick up one of the more common 3 1/2 legged buffalos from me a few weeks ago. Hes a good customer and I know things like this is why he keeps coming back. As a dealer you see so many coins you just cant catch them all....there are those who try though.

Nice find coindeuce! I wish PCGS would show/state more pick-up points on the varieties like NGC does.

19Lyds, many years ago I self-picked three of that same variety from a group of partial rolls I won at a local auction. One of them eventually went to Kevin Flynn and was used to illustrate the variety in his Authoritative Guide to Lincoln Cents. Yours looks like a 65RD all day, that's a really nice find.
