Haven't bought a coin for my type set in forever. In doing some research on some upcoming auctions, I went to the pop reports and looked closely through the pics. Some nice coins out there!
Just thought I would post some of my favorites with the off chance that someone owns them, knows of someone that does and/or would want to sell or pass on my interest. You never know what you will get by shaking the trees!
I am strong buyer of exceptional Swiss!

They're all drop-dead gorgeous. Those Swiss folks sure know how to engrave some beautiful coins and medals, and have, for a long time.
But you know that, obviously.
The toning on all of them is exceptional...
Out of all of those designs, I have to say the Bern piece, the second one down, does it for me. I will have to add that to my 'hope to own an example of someday' list!

I remember that 1842 Graubünden - do you have the image ready?

Zohar:
Here is the Graubunden. Now in a PCGS holder. PCGS has graded one MS67, but I don't think that I would trade it out for this one. Eye appeal wise it is the 67's equal although technically it doesn't match it. I don't need the finest graded type and shooter set, just the most well matched and beautiful will work for me.

Just when I was about to congratulate you on the 1857 2F and others...
How's the type set in regards to Seating and Standing Helvetia minors(<5F) doing?
PS: Good opportunity to post some of yours for some new folks to see.

Good to hear from you. I would LOVE a shot at that 1857. Uber tough, but would go well with the 1873 Five Franc, which is hardly a type coin. Oh well...we can dream!
Here is a taste of the centerpieces of the collection thus far.

So, in a way, you should consider yourself very lucky John, especially in regards to that monster 1916 5F (so much better than the SP) , as well as the 1874 shooting taler, and the 1873 5F. It's nice to own some of the finest world crowns in existence, and Zohar certainly knows this feeling first hand as well.
