Thinking of consigning 15k worth of stuff 25.00 to 500.00 + items all graded by PSA, or PSA/DNA
What do you think of them?
If used how did you like results?
Thanks in advance

The results were pretty good for auctions. I'd say most of the items got +/- 10% of eBay/market average. However, like you probably know and hope for, there was always one or two cards that just skyrocketed. Best case was that I consigned a decent looking 64 Aaron PSA 7 to them after I couldn't sell it by myself. VCP is around $120 and PWCC auctioned it off and got a final hammer of $268; highest the card has ever sold for, by a landslide. I don't know how or why it did. It made up for some of my other cards that didn't quite make it to their market value (or what I thought was market value). Like any auction, it's all about timing and having the right bidders. I think that if you are going the route of consigning and you want your money quickly, then PWCC is the way to go. (You can ask for ~70% of your net payment to be paid via PayPal with the other 30% coming via check about 2 weeks after the entire auction has ran through)
LaJoie Portrait 3+, Cy Young Bare Hand 3+
Ty Cobb Bat Off 4+, ANY Red & Green Portrait
basically only the items that would have the straight commission taken out of them. not the "fee".
The consignment fee for under $100 items is $6 plus 10%. So on your $25 cards you'll be paying $8.50, or a 34% selling fee. You're an active seller on Ebay and will probably have the store 9% selling fee reduced by 20% with the FVF discount, and you're probably paying a reduced rate for higher Paypal volume at 2.2 to 2.5%. It will cost you around 10% to sell the same item. They are great for higher dollar stuff but you need to do the math on cheap stuff.
True you don't get paid until after all auctions in the series is done and tabulated. But I guess you can get 50 or 60% of the value upfront if the cash is really needed. Brent is great with working with you.
My only issue was you should rethink breaking a set. I got hammered big time. Huge. But there are so many variables involved that affect the final price. Any auction is a crapshoot. But with his business model, I don't think it maximizes your value in a set break. That would be my only negative. I don't worry about money with this hobby or let it get to me but this one even I had to take a step back. Moving on. But so many more positives with Brent.

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.

He is the best in the business. I buy the majority of my cards from him. The prices can get pretty high but thats pretty good for the seller.
Baseball, it is said, is only a game. True. And the Grand Canyon is only a hole in Arizona.

What baffles me is when people pay more for basically the same card that is listed with a BIN on ebay at the exact same time. You see with PWCC that people will pay 10-25% which is hundreds and even a thousand more than a cheaper card that is one click away. I realize not all cards are equal but I've seen it over and over for the same or even worse cards.
I completely agree. What also baffles me is PWCC will have multiple examples of the same card in the same grade and the worse looking ones frequently sell for more than the better looking ones.

Guilty. I just paid 20% over a BIN price at PWCC yesterday. I think a lot of it has to do with hits on Followed Searches. The PWCC one showed up in mine, the BIN didn't (probably due to a recent eBay glitch on my phone). Thankfully in my case it was only a $12 mistake and I do like the centering on mine a bit better than the BIN, but I've seen it happen on some $$$ cards as well.

I've mentioned this in previous threads, but trolling through BINS is a time-suck. 95% of them are waaaay over priced. As of about 6 months ago, BINS are off my radar and removed from my searches. If I pay more in an auction than a BIN, so be it. If you value your time at any level, then those minor overpayments are peanuts compared to the time you waste looking for good BINS.

What was very obvious is when you have "BBCE unopened wax box" for auction with 3 days left that is one line above the same exact box for a hundred bucks less as a BIN below it.
This is apparent when they are listed in order of price. It happened a lot during the unopened craze.
ex..3 separate boxes of 1980 wax by pwcc with a range of 950-1100. Then some BINs right below for $899
This Tom Seaver rookie is going through the roof. Definitely has to be the highest a PSA 9 will ever get to this point.

Whatever you think about the "high end" designation you can't argue with some of the prices they've been getting.

Thanks but no thanks. Big fisheye in the Seaver section.

at least with me it often has to do with the fact that I have a lot of $$ sitting in consignment fees with PWCC. If I see something I need I will use the $$ from my consignments to purchase it in another PWCC auction. Brent then offsets it from what he owes me. 90% of what I send to Brent is high profit, so I generally do not mind paying a little more for ease sake
