Nolan Ryan auto and 1990 UD questions

I picked this up the other day as I felt that the auto looks good. However, I also understand that the revers of the pack pulled Ryan autos from 1990 had a different hologram on the back.

My questions are.....do you feel the auto is authentic? and if so, if the card was not pulled from a pack, where did it come from (why is it numbered)?

The auto is not even close
Hologram should be a diamond shape I believe

  • there's a psa 10 about to end that has the diamond hologram on back
    It never leaves you...
  • Bad card. As previously stated the holo should be a diamond. The auto besides being off shows too much speed variation.

I haven't seen a whole lot of bogus Nolan graphs over the years as he's a frequent and good signer, but that one is awful in my opinion.

Looks like a forgery to me.

Also, this is from the 1991 set, not the 1990 set.

I have a real one. The hologram on the back is a diamond and not a home plate.

Looks like someone just scribbled his auto down...then gave it a random serial number to try to pass it off as a legit pack-pulled insert.

sounds about right - thanks to all for their input.

be aware that there are other of these out there as well (I have seen at least 1 other on eBay and 1 that came from the same location as this) - all from northern Maryland.

People have been forging autographs and putting fake numbering on these cards, and then selling them to buyers who didn't know about the hologram difference on the back, since they were issued in 1991.
