Learned a valuable lesson in cracking cards to resubmit.

My brother and I loved the 1984 Donruss Mattingly as a kid. He swiped mine as a kid. A few years agobought me a PSA 9 and told me the truth/how it happened. I was 7 and didn't even realize I owned it.

Anyway, it looked so good I thought I would crack it and add to my BGS submission. Well, it was the only card that came back trimmed. I have very few cards that have a lot of sentimental value but that was one of them. Before I get jumped why I cracked it because a BGS 9.5 is easier than a PSA 10.

On a good note, my wife bought me a Bird/Magic rookie at a local show for Christmas two years ago and it came back a BGS 8.

Send it back to PSA. Believe me I played operation crack out at the National PSA6 went to Sgc altered to Bgs altered to PSA 5.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I've learned that over the years from the crack-n-sub game. At least it's not a high $$ mistake. My most recent rejection was a $225 "evidence of trimming," but the same sub had a +$1000 grade bump. Remember, it's only an opinion.

Regardless it was a great gesture by your brother you could always resubmit to psa if it was me, I would just put it in a one touch and enjoy it.

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • Yeah, I recently pulled a Bradshaw straight from a 79 tray and it came back trimmed which was obviously impossible. Just submit it again if you want it holdered. It happens
    It never leaves you...
