Here is an original, problem free attributable variety of a Seated Liberty Half Dollar. This is one of my extras in my collection which just doesn't fit in...why??? NGC holder does not fit well in my PCGS collection.
"WB-102. RECUT SECOND 8. (1 HEAD DIE) The bottom loop of an extra 8 shows plainly midway between the prominent 5 and second 8. In late die states with the extra 8 polished away, this variety is readily identified by a huge lump in Liberty’s skirt off the end of the scroll and above the gap between the 5 and the second 8.
