How to steal a 52 Bowman Bruce Edwards ...

I recently received the wrong card from an Ebay auction. I notified the seller immediately, and returned the card. Top notch seller, never a problem. The issue I have is with the person who received my card, a 1952 Bowman PSA 8 Bruce Edwards PSA serial number 02397628. Turns out he wants to keep it, but it’s not his to keep.

It’s called stealing. The seller has tried everything within reason to have him return the card, but he won’t. Apparently, Ebay is a dead end, and won’t help. Which leads me to this … avoid dealings with Ebay member ________, anyone who clearly lacks the integrity, honesty, and has little to no conscience does not deserve to be included within our community.

He has the card. Admitted it through Ebay emails. AVOID ________ … he’s on my blocked bidders list. It figures he has 3 feedback, and probably doesn’t read, or even know about the PSA message boards. I’ve had my say, there are worse things in the world, but come on.

Its unreal the amount of fraud and dishonesty thats out there.

Any other details? Did you end up losing money overall, a huge difference between the value of the two etc? Who was the top notch seller since they've never been a problem it sounds like?

I ask because could there be a chance that they're both working together on this? One gets paid, funds dispersed, the other completes the circle and "technically" ebay is saying that theres nothing they can do. And you're the one left holding the bag. Wait...the seller sent you the wrong card. So did they reimburse you?

Sorry to hear this. Your avatar is completely appropriate.

The seller is not the problem. I'll get my money back. Hate calling anyone out, but this was very annoying. The Edwards card was Dead Centered, and may have bumped. The seller may get stiffed. He has not confirmed if the jerk will be paying for this "stolen" card.

My understanding is that if one receives something they didn't order?

They can legally keep it with absolutely no recourse even tho we all know that's pretty sorry.

I'm no expert on the subject but I believe that law applies to companies that send unsolicited merchandise and then
demand payment. In such cases you are not under obligation to pay for or return the item. In this case the person
knows it was a simple mistake and they are simply being asked to return the card to the rightful owner at owners expense.

I'm not a legal expert so I can't comment on whether he has a legal right to the card. Regardless, he has no moral claim on the card. Him keeping the card shows he has no character at all. I am sorry to hear you and the seller look like you will be the losers in this situation.

Sorry to hear this. I did this by mistake once and shipped a $400 card out instead of a $200 I sold by mistake. It's worked out but I remember being nervous. Like someone said how can this guy sleep at night?

Very sorry to hear this. Unbelievable what some people will do. I'd look him up and not let it go, depending on how much money is involved.

This person is a lowlife plain and simple. >>

This is the letter of the law.

Guy entered into a transaction with seller on eBay and is sent the wrong item in error. He is not protected under the above law/situation.

Sadly unless there is solid evidence of the item being sent to the guy, him receiving it and admitting to this and stating he isn't giving it back the seller would never win any sort of case whether civil or criminal. Sucks but as someone who has sold on eBay since late 1997 and have messed up once before and had to eat the cost of the item in a similar situation pay very close attention to what you are shipping out and to who EVERYTIME. Most people it seems that are on eBay these days are always angle shooting to get something for nothing.

EDIT: I see the guy admitted to it via eBay chat. Is the seller gonna do much of anything over a $50 card? Curious if you actually received a wrong item that was worth more than the $50 card you purchased.

I recently send a card (only worth about 25 bucks) to wrong person. I was pleasantly surprised at how willing they were to forward the card to the correct person for me.

i had an ebay seller send me an extra sifk jordan speith rc card mag. ends up it was supposed to go to another board member here (vintage fun). we settled it w/o even really involving the non-responsive seller, as the ones i ordered weren't received til 21 days after i ordered them.

still shocked how small the world really is. anyways, i even sent some cards w/ it to him to sub at national for me on blind faith. he returned them in more than ample time, on his dime and all was right w/ the world!

how someone can live w/ their own personal self-worth over a $50 or even a .50 card is simply mind-boggling. it would make me feel bad every time i looked at it.

he'll end up answering for it one way or another....

To update: CUBS WIN!!!!!!!!!! Also, I contacted the person through Ebay who received the card. After an overnight, he replied that there was some miscommunication, and would be returning the card to the seller. I got the impression he thought the card was from the sellers "inventory" and not an Ebay auction. So this should have a happy ending. Oh by the way ... CUBS WIN!!!!!!!!

Truely feel for the Pirate fans. This one game playoff stuff is crazy nuts. Don't like it one bit.
