Finished Off a Tough Complete PSA Set

Hooray, after a long search, I have finally finished off my 1978/79 Topps Basketball Set - all PSA 9's and 10's!!!
image
The last card was #92 Bob Dandridge, I found a PSA 10 and overpaid. Figured I would share a bunch of the other 78 Topps products i've collected during this journey.
First, a few of my favorite cards from the set:

A PSA Graded Pack

A couple high grade raw sets

A Wax Tray (BBCE authentic)

A BBCE Wax Box

A Couple Raw Packs

Three Wrapper Variations

I know there are vending boxes and uncut sheets out there, just haven't crossed paths with the right deal yet. Cheers!

Congratulations on completing the set. I love all the extra stuff you picked up, especially the wax tray. Any particular reason you picked this set?

    Congrats and thanks for sharing!

I have always though the 77, 78, and 79 BSK sets were under-appreciated and really enjoyed seeing the fruits of your journey - awesome stuff!

Well done!! Awesome collection. What is next?
  • Awesome pics and a great set as well. This set is loaded with HoF and high quality players, but it doesn't get 1/10th the attention it deserves. Where is my "like" button?

The biggest lesson I've learned in this hobby, and in life, is that if you have a strong conviction, you owe it to yourself to see it through. Don't sell yourself, or your investments, short. Unless the facts change. Then sell it all.

Great job on picking up all the extras too. Collecting a high grade complete set is tough but some of those additional items are really tough and round out the collection nicely.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Great job, congrats on completing the set. The set design is similar to the 1963 and 1983 Topps Baseball sets, classic!

Congrats! I love this set. I would bust box after box building mine. Still have a fascination with it

I remember when the low pops were zero pops, and getting the first George Gervin and Quinn Buckner was a beast too

I haven't updated or checked mine in a very long time, I believe it is still close to the top - 1978 Topp$Pit

I actually moved the Pelican case that it is stored in today and now this, I may have to jump back in.... Great Job!!

ETA: Back then I would battle it out with Museum Of Sports History for the top spot, MOSH had a pretty large registry going back then it was fun going at it

Congrats on completing this great looking set. You have an awesome set.

It's one of my favorites from the decade too.

This set may have the most in game action shots used in a basketball set.

Thanks for all the kind words! I'm not quite sure what got me going on this set, I think some basic research showed an undervalued set, that I could achievably put together in high grade without breaking the bank (availability of cards, cost, only 132 total cards). As for what's next...I have no idea...any suggestions for a random hockey or football set?
