Please don't post any personal information about your finances if you are a dealer, just vote in the poll so it is anonymous.
I'm just curious as to what the income of the average full time coin dealer is.
If I was one, it would be a question of how much money I would lose a year

<< <i>Why wouldn't you want full time dealers to show in the poll what they make? That would make more sense than having non dealers GUESS what full time dealers make. >>
To get good information only dealers should vote, so I’ll change it.
I just wanted it to be anonymous so no one would post how much they make. First, it’s nobody’s business, but income in any occupation varies greatly. And a lot has to do with location because it costs a lot more to live in San Francisco or New York then it does in the Midwest.
So dealers vote in the poll, but don’t post your income in a message.

At the present, the winner is $200,000+. Looks like a good field and high enough to be in the top 5% of income earners.

Under 20K has 3 votes. People are going to goof on a poll that should be goofed on I guess!
Also where do I get one of these $200K+ jobs, since that seems to be the norm? Id be willing to move.
<< <i>From their appearance, their clothes and the stains on their shirts to the cars they drive......me thinks they are hurting and/or don't take their business seriously...more of a loose enterprise or pseudo hobby of some sorts. Come on some have an office, some have a basement, they carry their wares in boxes/cases from show to show. Some have internet sites most don't and the ones with internet sites some have photos and some don't and of the ones with photos most have lousy photos. Dealers remind me of the traveling salesmen of the years gone by. And I won't even go to their reporting their transactions properly to the IRS LOL. >>
Yep, wanta buy a Kirby vacuum.
Some of the largest and brightest dealers net well over $1,000,000 per year.
it really depends on the type of material you handle, your volume, your grading abilities, and timing in the market.
So many factors that a poll like this cannot tell a full story.

<< <i>For the under $20K respondents, they are either not FULL TIME or they are doing it wrong. >>
I'm guessing that many under $20K dealers are drawing retirement or disability checks from employers and/or SS.
Also some might make this much from e-Bay sales.

Any help locating any of these OBW rolls would be gratefully appreciated!
But it puts coin dealers into "Job Description for First-Line Supervisors of Retail Sales Workers" catagory.
If 8.26% of the poll makes $200k+ maybe coin dealers have a credibility issue along the lines of used car salesmen
<< <i>There are some dealers who are tire kickers who just do it to occupy time and make $5-$20,000 a year.

Can we all just agree that there is no free lunch
<< <i>As a dealer who answered the poll honestly, I am a bit let down by the voting thus far.

Any of those $200,000 dealer incomes are large for National dealers , those that cater to wealthy people and those that grind it at shows, b&ms and ebay
Look at some of the dealer web sites ,, some dealers have a couple of million dollars of coins listed on their site alone
As Gold , metals decline , economic slowdown persisted, some has dealer fortunes followed ,especially at the B&M stores
<< <i>I have zero faith in these poll results.

Not trying to be rude, but non of anybody's business what I make?
<< <i>You do realize your invasive polls do create an atmosphere for people to F uck with you don't you? >>
I think the answer would be yes.
I can also see why a lot of dealers wouldn't want to deal with Realone. I have him blocked as a poster and I certainly wouldn't sell to him as a dealer. Pass

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

I hear how many make just a few percent, so they are going to have to sell 10 million in coins a year to pay themselves 200k after expenses. lol The local B@M made out well during the bullion run. I know of more than a few that made the rounds of the big show are now selling life insurance living in a van down by the river.
Like everything the smarter and harder you work the rewards usually follow.
