Dumb Submission Question

If I submit a coin for a regrade (in a PCGS holder) AND a variety attribution, if the coin doesn't make the regrade, will PCGS return the coin at the old grade but with the variety attributed?

Again, sorry for the dumb question...I could send PCGS a note, but trying to get it in the mail tonight. Thanks.

if you send it in for regrade, don't request a minimum grade. they should attribute it and place it in a new holder.

Regrade automatically goes into a new holder.
Reconsideration stays in the old holder if it doesn't upgrade, If it does cross you pay the upgrade tax

I would not ship to PCGS until they clarify their position on your question, which I do not consider dumb.

I got burned one time for variety attribution fees that I paid on a crossover service that DNC. Very similar situation to yours.
