PCGS Queue Times

Every submission is stored in a table in a PCGS database. Each coin is just a row in that table. Since every coin has either been graded or it hasn't, it would be totally possible to create a "queue" for each submission.
You would know how many submissions and/or coins were in front of you. Just some simple SQL queries. I wonder why they haven't created this (yet)?
I do like that they finally added an Order Status. But "In Progress" doesn't tell me much. I could have assumed that.
Anyway, here's a TV for your viewing pleasure.

(1) Different coins have different paths through the grading process. Not every coin takes the same path. So there's not a linear queue. Depending upon the coins, they may go to different graders with that specialty. And if the first 2 graders don't agree with a grade, it goes in front of more graders to build a concensus.
(2) Probably not a good use of time and resources to design something online that has little real value.

Even if coins if front of yours had tough to attribute varieties, it would be nice to know whether I had 4,667 coins in front of mine or 12.
Check out my iPhone app SlabReader!
Not only that, we don't know what, exactly, they have created internally. From a company standpoint, I can certainly see NOT giving such exact info out to people watching their submissions too closely.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

But imagine the customer service issues if they told you what the queue is. It would create unnecessary complaints as people would call up wanting to know why they only advanced a couple of places in the queue. It's information that would cause PCGS more headaches than provide value in the process. They already give you an expected turnaround time for various levels of service that's updated daily. Knowing that they have an estimated 15 days, 20 days or 25 days seems to be enough information to give an idea of the backlog and the queue.
However, I just got notified that my latest submission is on it's way back. No posting of the grades before
shipping out. No way to ask a why or have a coin go back through the process before it's shipped back. I
got the shipping notice and then went to see the grades and all were still "in process". They have since
posted, but too late.
First that has happened to me.

<< <i>Yes, a countdown to the process would be great.
