I didn't play this time (I did at the June show), but if it is anything like the last one you do not get to see your results unless you won the contest. I guess they trash the losers' answer sheets.

I believe you can ask for your numerical score of you email the right person.

No they did not give the results last time even after several emails. They did give you the results a couple years ago when it was free for collectors, but apparently they did not consider people who paid $50 would want to know how they did. If I pay to enter a contest, I expect to see my results.
PS. Kyle Knapp won again. I guess being an ex PCGS grader gives you a pretty good idea of how PCGS grades.
You can call Customer Service at 800-447-8848 and we can give the Grading Contest Results for Sept LB as well as the last Grading Contest. You can get the amount of grades you completed correctly. We will not have the rankings: how many people did better/worse than your score.
I have 100% confidence in the grades that I chose for all the contest coins. If someone else disagrees with the grades I determined, that is not going to change my opinion on them.
I'm not really sure why I entered the contest, especially since it cost $50. Had I known that I wouldn't get to see how I scored and what the winner's score was, I never would have entered.

regardless, thank you pcgs!
Congrats on the win!!! Can't believe they didn't tell you for a couple of months though. Also disappointing to hear that they didn't give feedback to those who paid to enter the contest. The contest was much better in the past when it was free to enter and the prizes were better too. Used to get the results and breakdown of the scores within a week too.
1. How do you know if you're on the right track if the testing results are never revealed? For $50 they should E-Mail out the results of all participants in order of finish or at least provide a list of PCGS's findings on the coins involved.
2. If the winner only got 10 right out of 20, does that means the other ten were "market graded"? The technical grade might have been correct.
If you do what you always did, you get what you always got.
if I remember correctly, the time they did this before back in 04 -05 they gave you the results showing you the grade and superlatives you noted vs what they actually were. You got deducted for each thing you missed, point per grade, designations such as FH, F RB red, cam , etc
they also posted the top three on the web site.
In fact, I remember the first time I hadn't even left the show yet when I was congratulated for placing second at the regional by one of the other participants.
I was at the September 2015 show when they announced the winners. I have listed them below.
The dealer division was won by Kyle Knapp 10/20 correct The collector division was won by Kevin Kaufmann 10/20 correct The YN division was won by a young man with the first name Grant. I don't know his score out of 10.
50% repeatability by the winners...which suggests missing MS/PF coins by at least 1 pt somewhat rountinely. And yet so many concerns among buyers who expect any slab to pin point the exact grade of any coin, at any point in time.....with pricing to reflect that notion.

I heard the winner got 10 right. It was fun, but I do wish they tell you how far off you were on each coin. That would make it more educational.

and a free submission! we were both very surprised!

Could not go to the finals the last time as it was out west, as I didn't have the money to go.
Couldn't afford it. Back before the gold boom, I was living paycheck to paycheck just trying to get by.

I agree that PCGS should make available the correct results to all participants. This would be more useful than a simple score.
