Picked this up recently from poor scans on eBay, what do you think of the toning?

<< <i>Neutral-negative toning, coin certainly looks nice though. >>

+1 Leaning more to the neutral side though.

I'm not a fan of that toning, coin looks 64ish and if I was a buyer I would want a discount due to the tone.

I am between neutral and liking the toning. It is interesting.

I like the toning on the obverse, which seems to be more greenish-brown in front of Miss Liberty's face, and more pinkish-gray behind her head.

From the photo, there appears to be some flashy Satiny to Semi-PL luster illuminating the toning from underneath which would give the coin a bit more "pop" than frosty luster.

i'd put it in a traditional toning class
adds to originality of coin...no real premium except on the eye appeal

The toning is neutral IMO. I'm saying MS 65 on a real good day.

64 and the toning is not for me.

I am not a fan of the toning, personally, however that doesn't mean the majority won't find it attractive. It's just not for me.

As far as grades go, I think it is MS64. The reverse looks a little too "busy" with small bag marks to warrant a gem grade.

    Neutral negative on the toning

Looks like it's covering up a very lackluster obverse.

    I'd call it a 63 or 63+

  • Hey Kyle I like the toning as it looks like an evening sky transitioning to darkness. I would go 63-64 on it.
