Card Shops in London, England

Anyone know a place in London that has cards and/or collectibles?

Thanks

Nope, but when you find one, please share the experience here! Would be a really cool thread. I'm guessing lots of neat soccer cards, plus some stuff like golf, tennis and cricket. Keep us posted!

I'm not sure on shops, but can dig up a couple eBay sellers from the UK that I've dealt with. The two most recent are:

    topgear28 in Barnsley
    steves.cards in Portsmouth

No idea if either of those are near London, but they could probably point you in the right direction. I'm sure there are others that I've purchased from, but will take some time to dig them up.

Most corner convenience stores will stock the retail packets of the current year's Panini stickers, and several of those will also have the current year's Top Trumps as well. For a bigger selection of that type of stuff, you can check their version of Target, such as Tescos. There are probably a hundred or more antique places in and around the London area. Most of them will have a stall or two with good selections of cigarette & confectionery cards (aka pre-war tobacco cards); tons of potential gems in there if you know what to look for, and not hard to find. For things like 50's-70's cards such as A&BC/FKS/Topps/etc., you probably will have to track down an actual card shop, or one of the periodic flea markets.

On the food side of things, you absolutely must spend some time in the Borough Market, no matter where you are staying relative to its location. You'll thank me later.

My last trip there was 5+ years ago for work for a couple of weeks, but there were two I found. One was in London itself, and had coins / stamps / cards, mostly soccer-related on the card stuff.

There was a second shop which was maybe a 15-20 minute tube (train) ride outside of London itself (can't remember which way though!), and had a large selection of material from multiple sports. The main thing I recall was a lot of older Panini material going back to the 1960s, and a lot of older cigarette cards, both sport (some golf, but more rugby and soccer) and lots of non-sport.

Sorry I can't be more helpful with specifics on locations, but wanted to note that there at least used to be a couple of shops over there!

I found a lot of T206 style/era Cricket cards at the Portobello Road market, both in the stalls and in the nearby stores.
Not cards, but I've found a lot of other paper collectibles (antique maps and travel posters) in a few stores around the British Museum. I'm sure if you asked there you might get some leads.

Always looking for Topps Salesman Samples, pre '51 unopened packs, E90-2, E91a, N690 Kalamazoo Bats, and T204 Square Frame Ramly's

Thanks guys. Super helpful. I'm on borrowed time so we'll see what I can get to.

Probably a Tesco and an antique shop or two.

    Fungers crossed.
