Italian States NEWP

I forgot to mention this one, but this was in the Goldberg auction last week.

1814 Genoa 2 Soldi, NGC63. In 1797 Napoleon turned Genoa into the Ligurian Republic under French protection, and it was officially annexed by France in 1805. The Genoans finally gained independence again in 1814, but only for a very short time as the Congress of Vienna granted Genoa to the Kingdom of Sicily.

These are very common in heavily circulated condition for only a one year type, they are made from a rather poor quality billion though and don't generally hold up very well.

Very, very nice. you're right about the condition of this series. Usually come in wretched condition but your 2s is lovely and has to amongst the best, slabbed or not. Congrats!
