1877 Trade Dollar Diagnostics as to why it is a problem coin?

I am attempting to better learn diagnostics/markers etc of problem coins in this and other silver dollar series. I thought this coin would be good as to the casual non versed person it looks fairly good. Could those in the know point out what problems you see with the coin and what diagnostics/markers etc show this. This would be a great learning experience for many. This is not my coin and the images are not mine either for disclosure.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Looks like it was cleaned at some point with secondary toning on the reverse.

It looks like there's a fingerprint on the obverse lower right field.

If NGC didn't want to straight grade that coin then there really must be a problem with it - your pictures look like what I would expect to see in an NGC 45 holder.
Typically, NGC is pretty loose when it comes to "problem free" circ seated and trade dollars in my experience.
Just look at a bunch of problem free PCGC circ seated and trade dollars on heritage to get an idea.

A couple of very dark areas on the devices (obv olive branch) show just how deeply toned this must have been at one time. Someone had the fix for that. Fingerprint probably left behind during the dipping/cleaning process. Even the reverse toning could be artificial. It does have the look of a once cleaned coin. Surfaces are probably hairlined or scrubbed. Some faint signs of luster remaining around the devices.

  • The coin is in a AU details cleaned holder. Part of the purpose of this thread is to see if there are any other impairments. I ask this because of reading a thread about a gold coin that changed holders 3 times and was tooled but ended up in a cleaned holder. The TPGs only list one problem but many times coins have several issues such as filed edges, cleaning and tooling all on the same coin only listing the cleaning.

Does anyone see any other issues with this coin?

from those images, it looks like it may have been burnt in the past and re-toned a bit.

the left obverse field looks off

almost like it has been photoshopped to hide a scratch or cleaning
