Removing wax off of fleer bk stickers

Is there a good way to do it? I've a 1988 fleer jordan sticker that's perfect outside of the wax on back

I have heard multiple times that women's nylon stockings help with removing surface issues without damaging the card.

Those cards/stickers have a slick surface so the nylons should work fine.

sometimes you have be careful with the nylons, once in a while they'll actually scratch the card

i've actually found that a paper towel will do the trick most of the time
  • Drifit shirts work well too
  • Women's nylons are the best. Just be careful that you fingernail doesn't leave a dent when you are cleaning the wax off. It doesn't need much pressure to clean it off.

I also endorse nylons. However go slow and take your time. Patience is key.

Either paper towel or nylon works, but a sheer nylon stocking is cleaner and no more likely to cause a fingernail scratch or any scratch than a paper towel would.

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
  • I would be sure to use the female nylons instead of the ones for men. They are much softer and more gentle on the card.
I'm a big Nolan Ryan fan OK???!!!

A used 'bounce' sheet works as well...

    Good for you.
  • Just leave the items as they are.....
if you play with it, there is the possibility of damage..
    .EG:
The paper towel originally was wood and would be coarse
Bounce sheet has perfume to it and will be detected.
Nylons i only use to tie up bushes in the garden .
Have never heard of them used for this stuff

Just remember the first rule of coin collectiing ..
And is stated in any catalogue.
    SIMPLY DONT!!!!

I am sure that goes for everything. Just leave them in their original
condition because if not, then there is no need for the lower grades like
    Good - Good+ , Nice Good - a/Fine - Fine - Fine + - Nice Fine - G.fine - VF
    VF+ - Nice VF - G/VF - a/EF and so on
