German States and British NEWPS

I managed to win two nice pieces in Heritage today, one for my German States collection and one George III.

Stolberg, c. 1759, gold 1/8 Ducat, NGC 64. A tiny little jewel, and I'm a sucker for the Stag design on these. Reasonably scarce this is the finest of two graded.

1811 Proof 3 Shillings Bank of England token PCGS 64 Cameo, a fairly rare piece this one is Obv. 2 and Rev. 1, listed as ESC 409a, R4, 11-20 known. These are really the last of the old style of coinage in the UK as in 1812 they started using the more modern busts. PCGS of course doesn't attribute these to the references so It will go off to NGC to be entombed and will be the only 409a graded there.

Sweet 1/8 ducat. Likewise about the stag design, though I usually do not see ones that do anything for me. Some do, though, as does this one.

Dang those dadblasted NGC prongs! Get that puppy in PCGS plastic with some nice TrueViews! It deserves it!

Actually LordM I'll only be sending in the 1811 to the competition so it can be properly attributed. Unfortunately PCGS has priced themselves out of my comfort zone and they don't attribute British coins according to Peck or ESC. For these two coins to go to PCGS (assuming they would attribute the 1811 variety) my costs would be:

Grading $64
Sec. Plus fee $??
Imaging $20
Shipping $29

So $113 plus whatever they charge for secure plus, that seems pretty excessive to me for two coins. I'm assuming they still require all pre-modern World coins to go the secure plus route, and I'm certainly not giving anyone a percentage of the coins value to put a fancy gold sticker on the insert.

JCM, both coins are pretty sweet in my book. But that stag is probably the most awesome thing I have seen all day.

Thanks all, PatAR, very close now, just need an 1812 3 Shillings. I have all the 18 pence token proofs including the 1812 pattern, and I'll never own one of the gold or platinum versions so when I get the next 3 Shillings I'll consider it complete.
