new jersey, san antonio, and sacramento's coaches should all be shown the door.

here is why: its the same thing over and over in the playoffs. your team has a commanding lead in the fourth quarter, and intstead of playing the aggressive, to-the-bucket style ball you've been playin the entire game, you start to play not to lose. its the same thing with the prevent defense in football. its like all of a sudden you change your game plan to a passive lets-stick-this-out instead of taking it to them like you've been doing the whole game. it is the coaches responsibility to keep the tempo and energy level up, and it seems like as soon as you start to play not to lose, you're done. it falls directly in the coaches lap in these cases.

  • I understand what you are saying but do you realize how good of coaches these guys are?? Sacremento loses an all-star player and the second best player on its team and it still manages to be a couple wins away from the NBA Finals. Imagine the difference in game four if Stojakovic had been playing instead of Boby Jackson!! Also, the Spurs are consistently in the playoffs even though they have NOBODY except for Duncan. Robinson and Steve Smith used to be good but no they are far from their prime. And NJ is one of the up and coming teams in the NBA and made one of the biggest improvements from last year.
    Thanks Derek Scallon
  • i agree that they are all good coaches and that each team has had it's share of downfalls, but still, you have got to turn to the coach when something like that happens. he is the sixth man on the floor. larry brown said after the sixers lost that you need look no further than him for why the team lost. i am not one to place blame or point fingers, but these coaches have got to figure out a way to keep their players aggressive and play like its a tied game. i know its easy for me to talk from my chair and all, but id like to see more of an emphasis placed on the teams ablility to play consistently when they are winning.

I agree with you cranejoshua. That is why I like the Lakers so much. They go for the throat. All the great teams have been that way. I mean look at the last few teams other then the spurs. They all went for the throat. Bulls did it, lakers do it, and the rockets did it.

And no offense duncangal for the poke at the spurs.

  • I blame the players as much as the coaches...they get uptight and tentative, and forget what got them there. A coach can tell guys to be aggressive all day, but if they're feeling scared it won't work.
