Payton PSA 9 rookie- someone sure got the deal of the year!

$750?
PSA 9 Payton's are getting nearly twice that these days. Did krukcards MEAN to list it for $1749? Whatever the case someone got a steal.

  • Wow! With all the recent high auction sells of rookies in PSA 9...someone knew that was a deal on this Payton & pulled the trigger!

I can't stand krookscards. I hope they made a mistake and the buyer got a great deal.
Will see if they actually deliver.

Looks like they are discounting their prices, though how they compare to other sellers for same items I am not sure?? I was looking at an 81 Topps baseball set they had for sale for $27.95 in a binder, not bad!!

I think the grade is an error. Look at the upper right corner of the card. Some kind of scrape.

That's on the slab. Most likely a scratch

True. However, I would have had to spend 100 hours scanning through BINs when they immediately hit eBay to get this one before it's gone. $600 savings over 100 hours equals $6/hour...no thanks.

I'm surprised Kruck would make a mistake like that. I'm guessing they forgot the 1 but went threw with the sale because it was not listed again. Nice pick up for the buyer.

Good deal for the buyer. Good for Kruk if they in fact honored the sale. I believe there would be a legitimate argument they could make to cancel the sale in eBay because of a listing error (forgetting a digit which appears to be the case here would be a significant listing error).

  • Those deals pop up all the time (not typically this substantial) but it's a surprise so see it happen to someone so experienced. Just gotta be at the right place at the right time

I see your point, but if I can save $600 or find an item that is rare, it's worth it to me. My free time is free, kids are grown and am single.

The more people who feel the way you do gives me more opportunities for bargains, even if they are few and far between.

    Have fun collecting!

Agreed! Wow, that card has really shot up over the last year!
  • It's all getting out of hand. PSA 10's were always high, now we are seeing them at 2x to 4x the previous sale. PSA 9's are suddenly the next hot commodity. I'm not sure how legitimate all these sales are. Who is doing all this buying? How many posts have we seen on this site where someone picks up a PSA 9 at multiple of what it was going for and brag about it? Shouldn't it take more than one sale with the amount of copies available? I mean, we aren't talking about the Honus Wagner tobacco card that's a 1/1.

Not just PSA 10's, if an 8 or 9 is a highest graded pop 1 prices are going through the roof as well!

I was very surprised how high this one went! Thought I had a great snipe set and wasn't even close. image
