Did the Mint quit striking ASE's again??

keetskeets Posts: 25,351 ✭✭✭✭✭
A few customers have been saying that they've seen reports of the US Mint once again halting ASE production. Can anyone confirm this or is it just a rumor?? If it's true, will they start again or are they done for the calendar year 2015??

Thanks in advance.

They have been having trouble getting enough planchets to strike to demand, but as planchets arrive they are being struck. When they have a large enough quantity of struck coins on hand they will offer them to distributors.

I knew that's what it was a few months ago when they stopped and then resumed. these latest reports are probably what you guys have said with the "warning" being market hype by the marketers.

    thanks guys.

yeah, if we got 500 ASE's "on paper" they'd be easier to handle instead of a Monster Box. heck, I could keep 'em in my pocket!!

The planchet suppliers like every one else have to go out and buy silver in the open market. When they can't get the required amount, the whole daily chain breaks down.
