Is it a good idea to sell unopened wax thats not BBCE wrapped?

I have some cheaper unopened wax (87 Topps football and 84 opeechee baseball) neither of which are wrapped/authenticated by bbce. The Opeechee was purchased from Dacard world though but I just wanted to know people's opinions on selling these on ebay. Is it a good idea or should I just hang onto them?

I think those two years could be sold successfully on ebay for decent coin, especially the OPC box if you can show it was purchased from D&A. I bought a lot from them and it always passed BBCE.

OR send it to BBCE to be wrapped.

OR sell them in the BST forum and save eBay fees.

  • I think it's a good idea to get them wrapped! Buyers definitely need piece of mind cause there is no shortage bad boxes out there! Here you have many guys you can trust but ebay....it's a gamble to say the least!

I think it really depends on the cost of the box. With shipping fees both ways and authentication fees, not sure those items really will give you your money back. In general yes always best to have it authenticated--howver

I don't think those would get you the extra money to cover shipping and wrapping.

+1...I am amazed at the number of people that pay to get <$100 boxes authenticated

beat me to it - my guess is that 87 FB box can be sold at a price that's easily equivalent to the "post wrapping" inflation price, if not better

Sure, if the box/packs are authentic.

I agree with those that have already posted that you are probably better off selling unwrapped in these cases. If you have more boxes around the same value to send in for authentication then it may make more sense as the cost of shipping can be spread around more boxes. For these, I would say you will get close enough value for them without authentication. I also agree that you can give BST a shot first.

There is a eBay loophole to sell unopened boxes that may be bad and not have to accept returns. I know because I got burned. image

For that reason I stick with bbce.
