1975 mini wax pack rip

I got a pretty good deal on a lot of 3 GAI mini packs from a fellow board member so I decided to sell two and open one. Well, the results were pretty rough. I know this is the chance you take with minis and it makes me more grateful for the much better centered box I bought a few years back. The Harper is oversized. Probably the best two cards are Cardenal and Tidrow, both off center T/B. Still fun to scratch the unopened itch!

always a blast to open vintage, no matter what the results may be...hitting a money card is just an added bonus!

This is why I don't put a lot of money in the vintage unopened. You might as well play the lottery, you probably have just as much chance at success.

Actually, I just bought a $5 scratch off ticket and it was a $25 winner. I like the gambling aspect of opening packs on occasion. I already sold one of the 2 other packs for $99 and the other is going on eBay tonight. I figure the pack I opened will cost me $32 as long as I get $79 for the third pack.

Daniel, as someone who has opened my fair share of mini wax packs and boxes over the years, I feel your pain. 75 minis are one of the more frustrating issues from the 1970s. Then again, if that weren't the case, lower pop 9s and 10s, and even some of the tougher 8s, wouldn't command the premiums that they do. The 75 mini set is potentially one of the most lucrative from the decade because of that.

I was watching a youtube video of a rip in a shop in NYC.

The guy interviewing the rippers asked them if it was a big risk opening packs that cost 100s?

The guy answered: "It's a rush. Hoping to pull the "big" card! It's...it's like Cardboard Crack!"

    I liked his response. image

Interested in higher grade vintage cards. Aren't we all. image

I believe that's actually Danny Glover impersonating Tommy Harper.

Ironically, Harper is a beast of a card and that is maybe the only well centered copy I've ever seen without the usual random black ink issues.
