Delivery confirmation question

I am selling a piece of my Star Wars collection (A master Replicas Rebel Trooper Blaster) that will probably sell for about $475.00 give or take a few dollars. I was already planning on doing tracking and insurance but is it required to have delivery confirmation. I will add it anyways but was just checking to see if I needed it or not per EBay's requirements. Thanks.

Assuming you're referring to signature confirmation, no. The threshold is $750 now before it's required per eBay policy (used to be $250 a year or so back).

I might be extra dense this morning...

How is delivery confirmation different than tracking? Doesn't tracking show delivery status? Or is delivery confirmation a step up, like signature confirmation?

I think USPS and UPS both have thresholds where they require signature based on the amount of insurance (think it is $500 with the USPS).

Just use the force and you can track it like a Jedi. Think Obi Wan used insurance on Tatooine image

Yeah, but what if you were shipping something to Alderaan the day the Death Star shows up. Some guy, working off planet at his nine to five, comes home expecting a package. Unfortunately, he gets home to an asteroid field and no package. So, he opens a case saying that he never got his package (even though this should be the least of his worries today). Regardless if you put it on his doorstep yourself, without tracking, EmpireBay rules against you and issues dude a refund.

Good points and amazingly creative image

Same thing happened or me. Had an order get nabbed off my front porch by a few Tusken Raiders, and even showed them photos of Bantha tracks as proof. Never got the parts to fix my X-34 so I had to walk in the desert sun(both of them) and got a horrible sunburn. Next time I go back I will wipe them out - all of them(insert Palpatine gravely voice feature).

Delivery Confirmation through USPS now IS tracking. They upgraded it a year or two ago to be full tracking not just DC.

DC and tracking are the same thing now.

Since Alderaan is peaceful and has no weapons (According to Princess Leia) the guy has no business ordering a rebel Trooper Blaster. That guy is up to something shady and would need to get force choked.

Thanks. does anyone also know if you have to pay import charges if you ship to the UK?

  • As a seller, no. The buyer may have to pay.

Plus dont forget, Ebay is the galactical comparative to Jaba the Hut in terms of trust
IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

Only get Signature Confirmation if it is required. If it is not required, I would definitely pass.
