New protective case with photos

Last year I picked up a card case from Dave(70 Topps) that I love, and it holds about 150 cards - also has wheels, dustproof and waterproof, and you could stand on it. About a month or so ago I was at one of the national chain hunting and fishing stores, and while I was there saw some similar cases to hold guns. Picked one up and found a place that makes custom foam inserts based on the specs you send them.

Pretty cool item, and neat thing about this size is it fits inside of a backpack without being noticed, and is a great option for protecting your cards while at a show... I went with a slotted foam insert to protect the cards, and I can also have another insert made to store more cards laying on their backside which would hold 20-24 total cards. I would say if Dave can get another batch done like last time with the smaller size it would definitely be something I would recommend picking up - the cases are very strong and I have no problem trusting it to hold a bunch of a Mantle cards.

I am going to order a second one with more traditional spacing I.e. enough to hold 10-12 cards per section versus one card at a time. If I go with this size case I will have to lay them on our their backs, but if I go with the 6.75" depth case I can stand them up.

That looks pretty sharp. Is the case water proof?

  • Claims to be water proof, but probably more like water "resistant". If sealed, you can dump your Coke on it and be fine, but I wouldn't want to leave it in the bottom of a pool for an hour.

This interests me more than the case. Care to share the website?

Will send the name of the place when I get back home - based out of Anaheim, CA. Found them when I bought a case at Field and Stream by SKB that is like the one I bought here last year with wheels. Was not looking for one, checking out a few guns while I was there, and in the section with guns they had the cases. I love my one on wheels that I got through Dave on this board, but at the National if one person kicked it a 1000 did - felt like there was a field goal contest going on. Will send info when I get home later today.

Just spoke with Justin who handled my ordered and he said he can help out anyone looking to get a case or have a custom insert made. The name of the company is Case Club, and their website is www.caseclub.com. Best thing to do is call Justin at the number below and let him know you are looking for a case to hold and protect baseball cards - let him know that I sent you (Keith) and he will take care of you.

It is a pretty neat operation, and when you see the website and what they offer it will help you decide what you want. I can tell you from owning a few of these cases in a couple of sizes that the case itself is a rock. I am 235 lbs and can stand on it with both feet and it does not budge. The inside foam has a few different options as far as the foam itself, and you can send them the items you want protected - cards, packs, camera... and using a CAD drawing system they can design your foam insert.

Info is below and good luck if you use them.
