The Great Wall Of Dallas

The NFL network debuted A Football Life, The Great Wall Of Dallas, back in Dec of 13. A Football Life is a great show featuring different player's careers and personal lives. The episode inspired me to put together the road graders that paved the way for Emmitt Smith. My goal is to collect the rc's of the O-line in PSA slabs. I plan to start with the original 90's line and then expend to other years.

I have two cards so far with others on their way to PSA.

I figured I would start with "the kitchen", Nate Newton and tough guy, Erik Williams

About time your lazy @$$ got this thread posted! Love that Newton, so crisp! And always happy to see the linemen get some love, like this project or my Hannah collection. I'm sure ergoism enjoys it too image Anybody out there collect Anthony Munoz or Jonathan Ogden cards??

You're lucky to be a fan of a team with such a rich OL history. Steelers are another team that comes to mind. Other than Hannah, my Pats have historically been pretty thin up front. Bruce Armstrong was decent. Their super bowl teams of the past 14 years have had some great lines, but no stars with longevity. A lot of shuffling. Matt Light was overrated. Ah, forgot Logan Mankins. He was a STUD.

Anyway, looking forward to more updates to this thread!

Thanks for the cool reply Dan.

To add to your list, I'm surprised Orlando Pace doesn't get much hobby love as well.

Picked up a nice Mark Stepnoski the other day. Nice card a of an integral part of the 90's o-line.

Selected by the Cowboys in the 3rd round of the 1989 Draft, he dropped in the draft because the scouts thought he was undersized for the NFL.

He was switched to center by the Cowboys brass during the 89 season and was tutored by Tom Rafferty, who was playing his last season in the NFL. He became a starter for the last four games of the season.

Hei used his athletic ability, leverage and balance, to outmaneuver bigger defensive players and become one of the leagues best centers. By the end of the 1991 season he was selected to the first of five straight Pro Bowls not to mention two super bowl wins.

Cool cards and great project. The only time I have heard the term Great Wall of Dallas was on that NFL Network special. No one in Dallas ever called them that.

makes me think of a Chimese restaurant where I grew up and how bad Nate Newton would demolish their buffet back in the day.

    Lmao!

You saw him on the Great Wall "A Football Life". He looked absoutely terrible after he had the lap band surgery. He literally looked like he was dead he was so skinny. I'm glad to see he leveled out and looks normal now.

Who is that at QB on the Stepnoski card?
