    Pretty cool!!!! For guys my age that card is just as iconic as the 52 topps Mantle is for that generation!!!!!! Pulling that card as a kid was HUGE!!!!!

    As the article says:
    The original photo for Junior’s Upper Deck rookie was actually taken when he was wearing his Bellingham minor league uniform with the logos cropped to make him look like a big leaguer.

    Not that it matters, just never thought about it.

    I also read or heard that Griffey wasn't really wearing a hat, but they photoshopped one on the card.

    Anyone know if this is true?

    He was indeed wearing a hat, just airbrushed the logo on it
