1975 Topps Mini Pack Auction

Despite the disclaimer, I'm pretty sure the bidders in this auction believe they are getting the pack pictured, not a single card from the pictured pack that the seller is going to open.

1975 Mini Pack

Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.

I see he's running 9 of those auctions and the total amount for all nine right now is over $185(for the whole pack) if my math is right.
He should be starting one more auction if there are ten in a pack.

Edited to say: The total right now is 171.71 for the whole pack, as he's starting the bids at $13 and one card doesn't have a bid yet.

I don't think any reasonable person would expect the pack. The very beginning of the description says 'Please read full description, you are not purchasing the graded pack'. Could you argue for key word spamming? Maybe (that's how they got Tim to look at it) but it does say Break in the title. If I were doing it, I would say Pack Break and leave out the word Box entirely.

It seems this would end up being a nightmare for the seller, despite the disclaimer. I cannot understand why any reasonable person would bid $25 for (1) 1975 Topps mini card.

I'm not saying such a proposition would be reasonable but someone may be under the mistaken impression that they could pull a mint Brett, Ryan or Yount out of that one card, extremely unlikely as that may be. I think most people outside these boards have no idea that just getting decent centering is a really tough bet on '75 minis.

unfortunately at a minimum of 25% of ebay buyers don't read the description. They look at the picture , some don't even read the title. I used to list all my cards with scans of 2 or 4 cards as a low maintenance way to list. I have phased out most of these because even though my listing has a huge capital letter description that you get the card in the title only , I started getting messages looking for the other card even though there was no mention of it in the listing and usually it was when someone would buy a $20 card and be asking where the $150 card was that was in the picture even though it was not mentioned in the title or the description

Ebay is not a good platform to do a break like this, IMO. Too risky for the seller with eBay 'Buyer Protection' claims possibly being misused for a plethora of reasons (didn't get a big hit, poor condition cards, didn't read full description, et cetera). My guess is the listings get pulled anyways.

How cool would it be if someone made a bar top with all 75 mini wrappers!?

That sounds like a great idea. I'm surprised someone hasn't already thought about doing that. OH, Wait, someone did. image
