    There is a 45-D Mercury like this also.

    There are also Merc Mint Marks in the 1940s that are darn close to being horizontal.
    They can be all over the place.

    The Mint made a ton of dimes during the war, mint marks had many different iterations as a consequence of the volume and technology in use.
    Retired United States Mint guy, now working on an Everyman Type Set.
