Cal Ripken Collides w/Matt Merullo (1992)

As we approach the 20th Anniversary of Cal Ripken Jr. breaking the Consecutive Game Record, I thought I'd share a dual signed original photograph from the Chicago Tribune, showing home plate action of Cal Ripken colliding with the White Sox's catcher, Matt Merullo......Ironically, 20 plus years later, Merullo would manage a minor league owned by Cal (Aberdeen Ironbirds):

I just can't believe it's been 20 years since cal broke the record. Where has the time gone

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.

  • That's a great photo. Matt Merullo is actually a cousin of mine.
