A couple of Old School Breaks

Hey everyone,

I just picked up a lot of 24 84-85 Topps Hockey packs and 27 82 Topps Baseball Packs. I busted the hockey already and maybe someone who has busted these in the past can shed some light on them. Is the collation always terrible? I got 7 and 8 of some cards in 24 packs. Most packs had 15 cards like the pack states others had 10 or 11. I had a pack with 2 Gretzky's another with 2 Bourques. I don't think these packs were tampered with as I pulled an Yzerman. I did lose a Lafontaine to the gum. Just a few of the cards I pulled. I will move on to the baseball shortly.

Yes the 84-85 Topps hockey are a mess. Plagued by snow as well.

I have opened several of these boxes. I think there are 66 single print and 99 double print cards. It is a small set, but certainly one of my favorites. The design is classic. I agree the cards a re plagued with snow.

Hit a Ripken in the 82 Packs. What do you think? Too much O/C T/B to get a decent grade?

Yes the hockey were pretty bad. I could give them a look over again but I don't think there was much. Almost everything was off center.

More of the 82's. I didn't open all the packs. Once I hit the Ripken I stopped.

It was just before my time but I always liked the 82 Topps design.
