Fleer wasn't the only one that got it wrong

Just for kicks (slow day at work) I searched eBay for "Craig Nettles", excluding 1981 Fleer. Came up with 141 hits. Decided to try "Greg Nettles" and came up with 37. I think it's really weird because most of the items are baseball cards and his name is spelled on both sides of the card. What can I say, I'm easily amused. image

I have to wonder if the Craig Nettles are intentional to get more eyeballs from those looking for the 81F.

That card was the one we needed to complete the 1981 Fleer set with all the errors when I was a kid. My dad bought a case with 2 of his friends and only got 3 of the cards. we finally finished the set. A week later I traded it for a 1980 Reggie Jackson. My dad had to go to my friend's house to get the card back plus offer him some extra money. Anytime I see it at a card show I have to pick it up. I have 7 or eight of them now and I get them for $.50 to $1.00 a piece.

    Cal Ripkin - 611

If only the correct spelling was on the card.

It's not only eBayers making that mistake...

Larkin - That's pretty funny on the PSA graded 'Ripkin'.

I'm beginning to think all of those cards are labeled that way: 4SC Ripkin
