Opinions needed 1973 Schmidt:

The card is slanted in the holder, but there does appear to also be a tilt. If you were in the market for this card, would you be interested in this one or would you pass & wait for another?
If you did want this card, what percentage of VCP would you pay for it? 90%, 100%, or is the centering good enough for it to be more than 100% of the average VCP?

looks like a solid 8 to me. and agree, there actually is a slight tilt to it. possibly scanned that way to attempt to hide it, perhaps...

think the slight tilt, top left corner and slight pd on schmidt pic would keep it from bumping.

again, it's a solid 8 imo and have definitely seen worse.

but the tilt might make me pass....

edit: i'd ask for another scan w/ the card sitting straight in the holder and then make a decision on how it hits your eye?

Nice 8. Centered a bit low, but nice left/right. Good corners and image quality. It's better than the average 8, so VCP avg would be a nice price. A little over would be fair. In this age of big, blown-up scans I always try to remember that some scans can make cards look worse than they will look in hand, just as other scans can make other cards look better. Would love to see this one sitting flush to the bottom of the holder to better judge its degree of tilt.

I recently was looking around for a good example of this card. I found that it is difficult to find a clear image of Schmidt with a solid black border around him and good centering. This is a nice example if the price is right.

nice looking card, if I didn't already have one , I would have been interested. If the card was sitting flush when it was scanned, there probably wouldn't even be a discussion, any flaws would be nit picking. By scanning it this way, it opens up a can of worms of questions. nice buy

I've owned a bunch of Schmidts, graded and pre-grading era, and that one is as nice or nicer than any. I would have pulled the trigger too. Nice card.
