Frank Selvy HOF?

Why is Frank Selvy not in the basketball HOF? To me his career outshines many that are in Springfield. Here are just a few of his career highlights:

1. Averaged 41.7 ppg. at Furman U. which was the record until Pistol Pete broke it and averaged 44. Selvy is still number 2.

2. Consensus All-American first team 2 years.

3. Still the only Division I player to score 100 points in a game.

3a. He was on the cover of the 1954 NCAA basketball guide.

4. Number one pick in the '55 NBA draft.

5. Was a 2 time NBA All-star.

I admit I am prejudice as I am a die-hard Furman fan but wanted to see what others thought of Selvy's career. BTW he still lives in SC. Another thing is he has never has had a certified autograph card when it seems like everyone has.
He is a nice guy and I have met him a few times.

College career helps. I'd still like to see Zelmo Beaty or Don Ohl get in before him.

If Bob Houbregs is in the HOF already, there's no reason not to have Selvy too, who was a huge star in college.

Although I do think there are at least 20 other players that deserve enshinement
ahead of Selvy. Players that had much better pro careers in both the ABA and NBA.

I really wish the there were a 'Pro' Basketball HOF only. To me there are just so many
college players, coaches, referees, women players, etc. in the current HOF that this HOF is kind of lame.
