1996 Topps Mantle Commemorative set

Does anyone have an idea why this set shows as having 19 cards but yet card 20 was reprinted as the 1952 Bowman? I have seen the card (20) on ebay and it is listed as everything from a Topps, Topps Finest, Bowman Best, etc. all of which has me confused. What is it and why do you think it is not included as a set of 20? Thanks.

Jim

It's was issued with Bowman's Best as an insert, but there is no Bowman mention on the card so many people confuse it.

Thanks, LC. What you described was my exact situation - no Bowman mention; looks like a Topps card. The SMR does not list this card (understandably) but I did find it in Beckett under 1996 Bowmans Best as a card with no number (NNO). The card itself does state on the reverse left edge it is a "Mickey Mantle Commemorative Card #20". I was thinking that meant it was numbered. Bottom line, you helped me figure this out and I now know what the card is that I have and I have the "Atomic Refractor" version. Thanks for the help.

Glad I helped you figure it out image I meant to dig up a copy and post, but got distracted. If there are any Bowman 1989-2000 baseball card questions, I can probably assist. I have the other two versions of that one, but not the Atomic yet. The 1998 Bowman Chrome reprints are another very confusing insert set, but thankfully no Mantles to worry about in that one.
