PSA/JSA Authentication

I know that no one is perfect and they can't be 100% but how reliable do you feel their authentication is? Have you ever had an issue with their authentication or seen anything off? Is PSA quick opinion any good or pretty hit or miss?

I believe it is PSA/DNA and BGS uses JSA. I generally trust PSA including their PSA/DNA service. I have not used the quick opinion service but I would be pretty confident using that service as well. That said, I am not a big auto guy so I will let the auto experts chime in.

i think both are pretty good, pretty sure spence started out with PSA. most of the auction houses use them both, i wouldn't worry if something had a sticker from either.

quick opinion is a total waste of money if you ask me - nothing says they have to sticker it after you buy it even when quick opinion says likely genuine, so what good is it exactly other than an additional "tax" on authentication? most sellers now days will guarantee to refund the purchase price if it gets turned down, and if they won't then why would you buy from them? kind of renders quick opinion worthless if they'll take it back.

i've also had quick opinion turn down items i literally got in person, so i know for sure it's not accurate. and i'd be shocked if they ever said likely genuine on a quick opinion of any of their "name" players (the guys they list and charge separately for).
