It's never a good thing when your starter gets injured but..... The guy is not an NFL caliber QB. He reminds me a lot of Quincy Carter. He has some physical skills but lacks in mental part of the game.

In all seriousness this could force the Jets to sign a free agent QB who could be better than Smith
The savior may be on his way.

LOL, he can't be worse than Geno, can he?
Seriously, I think Fitzpatrick is better equipped to help the Jets win this season, and this is a blessing in disguise, as far as I'm concerned.
OTOH, maybe we can simply let some air out of footballs to give us an edge.

As humorous as this post is, it has some merit. Fitzpatrick isn't going to send a thrill up your pants leg, but he's a serviceable signal caller. At the very least, he's smart enough (Harvard) not to put himself in a position to have his jaw cracked in multiple places over $600.
As for Grossman, remember, I'm a Bears fan. You really don't want to go there. I'd even go so far to say that Peyton deserves an asterisk next to his one SB triumph because of that dude.

My thoughts exactly. Fitzpatrick reminds me of Alex Smith except with a stronger arm and can throw deep. Smith doesn't wow you but he can run the offense and get the job done.

<< <i>In other news, the Bills picked up Enemkpali today. Is the NFL a thing of beauty or what? Where else can you shatter someone's face with a punch and find work the very next day? >>
If you believe what Enemkpali said (which has been backed up by other players), maybe Geno got what he deserved.

I don't know about any of that, but Adam Schefter just broke the news that Enemkpali's agent is going to turn agua into vino during his lunch hour tomorrow.
