Can anyone explain this??

I recently ran across this completed auction on eBay and was shocked at what this card sold for. I can't seem to figure out why. Any thoughts?

    No idea. It all looks like legit bids, but doesn't seem like it's that tough of a card to get in a 10 (3 out of 13 subs).
    Who is the Golf Card Guy?

    not sure how a tom kelly card managed to get $200+ bid.

    Winning bidder put in a huge bid and next two underbidders kept bidding it up and finally gave up.

    Crazy money if you ask me.

    Once upon a time the 1986 Topps Mets (any Met) were hot commodities. Has to be the same thing.

    I have 1500 87 topps Bo Jacksons' and 500 Will Clarks' that I'm now asking $212.50 each for.
    Granted, they're no Tom Kelly, but
    I knew my 23 year old self was a genius for buying those cards in bulk back then.

    Don't laugh, 87 Topps Bo Jacksons sell for about $20. That's 15 grand if half of them were 10s.
