My recollection is the $1,000 range, perhaps a tad less-

I am actively buying MIKE SCHMIDT gem mint baseball cards. Also looking for any 19th century cabinets of Philadephia Nationals. Please PM with additional details.

    thank you.

Which one do you think is the "better" or more desirable: the Bowman Chrome Gold /99 RC or the 2001 SPx Patch auto RC?

I'm partial to the Bowman Chrome RCs in most cases, including this one.

Personally I like the 2001 bowman chrome gold more. I am also a fan of the 2001 SP Authentic #91 numbered out of 1250, that one is my favorite Ichiro rookie card. The most expensive Ichiro rookie is probably his upper deck ultimate collection card.
    What I Collect:

PSA HOF Baseball Postwar Rookies Set Registry- (Currently 80.51% Complete)

PSA Pro Football HOF Rookie Players Set Registry- (Currently 19.80% Complete)

PSA Basketball HOF Players Rookies Set Registry- (Currently 6.02% Complete)

Personally, the Gold Refractor is nicer. It just is a very aesthetically pleasing card.

From a collectability standpoint, the SPx will also be in higher demand. There are more of them available, it has an autograph, etc.

Kind of like the debate between 1951 Bowman Mantle vs. 1952 Topps Mantle. You can't go wrong with the 1951, but everyone knows that the 1952 Topps will always be worth more, despite not being a rookie, being double-printed, etc.

In short, it depends on what you want to do with it. With Ichiro, there aren't really many autographed factory-issued 2001 cards of him. This is the most plentiful, but it's still hard to find and many examples are shored up in Japan. Additionally, those willing to pay a significant multiple for the Gold Refractor vs. the regular issue refractor is somewhat thin. The Refractor is more widely collected than the gold parallel (there was no non-refractor in 2001 of Ichiro Bowman Chrome), so there's that to consider, too

    really like the gold card
  • Gold Card for sure, plus I like that it is written in Japanese for some reason. Who knew he was only 175 cm tall?
