I was there from Monday afternoon until Saturday morning. I'm a card guy, and the other three guys with me are all memorabilia guys. They brought a ton of baseball memorabilia from turn of the century (early 1900s) and sold much of it from their room to dealers on Tuesday night. Old bats, display pieces, artwork, cabinet photos etc.
I walked the floor for days, looking mainly at vintage cards, particularly Mantles. Prices were definitely higher than VCP and SMR. Everyone here talks about Jeff at Card Country, so I made it a point to stop by his area. What an amazing selection, and what a nice guy. Amazing prices, too, but I heard he was good to deal with.
Vintage photos seem to continue to be hot, and I spent quite a bit of time at RMY Auctions area. I left with a couple of nice vintage Mantle photos. This photo stuff scares me a little, though. I also picked up a nice 1954 Balentine Ale and Beer display with the Yankees team. Very colorful.
On Friday morning as I was going to breakfast at the hotel, I was stepping off the elevator when Mike Tyson, who was dripping wet from a workout, was getting on. A woman spotted him and asked for a picture after he had entered the elevator. He told her he was sweaty, but she said she didn't care. He stepped off the elevator, posed with her for a picture, and then posed for one with me. He couldn't have been any nicer or more polite and friendly.
Unfortunately, I don't know any of you personally, and I regret not stopping by the BBCE booth on Friday afternoon.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

Definitely stop by next year. I promise I won't let the guys force you to rip open any packs if you don't want to.
Thanks for sharing your recap!!

Collecting:
Any unopened Baseball cello and rack packs and boxes from the 1970's and early 1980s.
Seems like you had a fun time. Hopefully I will be at AC next year and we will get to meet.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I would sure like to meet you at the next national.
I remember we conversed on photos a few years back?
Looks like you had a good national and thanx for the recount. Till next year?
