Hi everyone
It was an awesome experience and I got lucky! This was my first national since 1992 and was nervous about how to meet people and stuff - Mike made is very easy.
Me and Mike (CPA) were walking around on Tuesday and my eye caught this great game and I couldn't believe how complete it was!
Double Header Baseball Game - 1935 - Redlich Mfg. Co.
The game is complete in superb shape and has all the parts and even the instructions!
On the unopened side, I added another year to my racks with these 2 80T racks:
And next a Diamond Dust punchboard with Mantle, Berra etc.
And my favorite - I added another Mantle auto to my collection:
As I've said - meeting with all of you was the highlight of my visit - so much that I'm sure looking forward to next year - you're a great bunch of people!
Some interesting moments?
I met Evan who had a pile of the nicest 53Ts that I've ever seen - in fact, the Mantle scored a 9!!!!
I was at BBCEx booth when a guy plunked down 1400 bucks for 2 86F Bkb packs and got zilch - felt bad for the guy.
And last, I was present when one of our members sealed the deal for a PSA 5 52T Mantle for 35K. I'll let him report on it - the card is a beauty!
Again, thanx to all of you - you made an old guy happy - I told my wife I can't die cause I gotta hit another natty!

At least you have a great stache which makes you look distinguished so at least you're a distinguished looking jerk!!
Just kidding of course--you're a great guy and as I already told you the other day I enjoyed meeting a cu boards legend (that's what I was trying to tell you around 8:45 on saturday morning but after only getting three hours of sleep the night before I couldn't find the right words!!)
Great pickups and i'm glad we could spend a lot of time on Saturday talking about this great hobby and hanging out even if Cpamike was always omnipresent

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Jmaciu's Collection
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
WTB: PSA 1 - PSA 3 Centered, High Eye Appeal 1950's Mantle
Love the mantle. Very strong Sig. I ended up getting autos frank thomas, Greg maddux, tom glavine and reggie Jackson.
Glad you had a great time at the national I need to make it out some year.
George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
Sounds like you had a blast which is what everyone else keep saying too. Makes me wish I went. I will certainly try for next year because it sounds like meeting the members is half the fun of going.
I collect: 80’s Rookies and 86 Fleer Basketball
Hope to see you next year in AC!
Andy
Thanks,

1985 Topps Football (starting in psa 8) - #9 - started 05/21/06
David, Bobby, Logan John, Eric, Matt, Andy, Dustin - I wish we could've spent more time together - I did spend extra time with David and Geordie tho.
Like I said, a group eat out would be great!
Craig aka craig44 doesn't post a lot here but I met him and his dad at the BB HOF - they scored some righteous sigs!!! Very nice meeting you and your dad.
Mark, Doug, Dan, Tim, Marc, Mike, David(LD) - I hope we meet up at AC next year!
If I missed anyone? PM me with threats like one of our good buddies and I'll be the first to apologize, retract and be ignored. (Inside joke)
Now a Special Thanx to CPA - Mike.
I was very nervous about going to the National and trying to meet as many of you by kicking guys in the shin and asking: "do I know you?"
Mike came to the rescue - he greeted me on Tuesday on the floor - I didn't recognize him from the pics but he had no trouble finding a guy with white hair and stash.
He and Pam were gracious and accommodating throughout the National!
Here's a special pic of Evan with Mike and his wife Pam:
I took a lot of pics of games and prices for record - my overall impression? Beaters for big bucks!
I did notice some really nice GU uni's at the show tho:
And I saw this Honus at the HOF donated by the Halper estate. Can't understand why it wasn't graded? Enter Fandango:
For those who remember the conspiracy guy - Fandango - about 2.5 minutes after posting this? I would be receiving a PM from him stating that the card was either a "fake" or that Halper stole it from little ole lady from Pasadena for a box of 1990 Donruss!
And at the luncheon where I met a lot of you fine gentlemen, we received this as a gift:

Tho I was happy to get the 32US Caramel card, I was hoping for a 1990 Leaf Sammy Sosa.
That's it for now - this was way too, too long - I sure hope I didn't miss anyone?
As I might've said - last year 2 minutes after the national closed people were talking about Chicago and I thought: "what?" "that's a year from now!" "I don't get it." "Well, after attending a National where one can relate to a bunch of fellow collectors and just chat?" "I NOW get it."
