Beware Scam (skip over if sick of eBay talk)

It seems to easy but if you buy a card ($6,500 in my case) and the seller ships it to your zip but it is signed by someone else at a different location and shows tracking delivered that is good enough for proof of delivery. It was even shipped by UPS and my address is a PO BOX. UPS does not even do that. I called and all was I got was "it shows delivered sir". I opened a case but they never even responded. I would think that they would be concerned there $6,500 card is missing. Just a heads up...... BEWARE

same scenario. actual UPS label but showed delivered to an address across town. UPS also does deliver to certain PO boxes located within UPS stores. the scammer knows this and is why that location was picked. as soon as it's dropped off at said store it is signed for by the store and uploaded and "delivered". I called in immediately vs going the online route and explained and it was handled properly in minutes.
brilliant scam actually. all they do is load the tracking number. shows signed for and delivered and by the time you get home and realize wtf happened, the scammer has sucked out the money and ran.
<< <i>It was probably an empty package too. And the seller may not have even been in possession of the card. >>
That's what I'm thinking because the never responded to the case. Took the money and ran.

<< <i>My PO told me that regardless of how you buy the postage with tracking (ie thru eBay, at the PO kiosk or at their counter), they now input the actual address into the purchase and not just the zip >>
What about UPS?
boxes but that actually has a physical address not a PO Box address..

<< <i>Something that high value probably would be signature required. UPS doesn't deliver to PO Boxes. Yes they deliver to UPS store

EXACTLY... My only confirmed address is a PO box and they shipped ups. The person who signed for it had a different name than mine obviously. Why this is not a clear scam to eBay I do not know.

Sorry this happened to you. Does UPS require that the adult signature be of the person who the item is addressed to? I know for USPS it's an optional service to be purchased if desired, otherwise, for signature confirmation it can just be any adult at the address.

It's a PO box. I'm the only one with a key. Talked to the UPS guy at work and he said they do not walk into the post office to deliver packages. It must have been shipped to a different address.
<< <i>A 65 Namath 8 for 6500 would have been quite the steal. Hope eBay is able to work this out for you. >>
Probably a $15,000 card? If it looks too good to be true...
Addicted: if this was me, I'd be lighting up PP on the phone and escalating it up as far as I can go, using all of the arguments here and more. If that doesn't work, starting on eBay. Then, if that fails, calling your bank to reverse the payment. Don't give up!
ups does deliver to some po boxes. again, sometimes it's a ups store other times it's handed off to the usps for the last 10 yards. but the ol adage that ups doesn't deliver to any po boxes, period...simply is not true.
<< <i>as for the complete delivery address, there is a tab that shows "complete delivery information" under tracking details, it can be emailed to you or you can call in w/ tracking info to get exact address.

Can you do this with UPS? Where?
Tracking number 1Z18868A0347386959
easiest thing to do is call in. they probably will tell you the same thing since it was signed for by someone else.
hang up. then give them "mr zachrin". that should get ya the info.
might be easier to tell them your zachrin to begin with, honestly. your call.
OR
create a ups profile, enter email, blah blah blah and then hit:
"request status updates"
wouldn't steer ya wrong, i promise.
edit: now, call paypal back.
request fraud department and/or manager immediately.
give them that address that it was delivered to.
give them a day to confirm and you'll get your money back.
best of luck!
don't waste your time driving across town to knock on the door.
this is a calculated and brilliant scheme designed to confuse ebays/paypals automated systems.
