1988-89 Fleer Basketball Box - Good Deal?

Hello,

I have a chance to buy a sealed 1988 Fleer Basketball wax box. It is plastic wrapped (was it this way out of the case?). They are asking $695. Seems like a pretty good deal based on recent Ebay sales. What should I be looking for if it can be opened to try to confirm that they are truly unopened packs? It is offered by a big name brick and mortar sports card shop in the area, so at least it isn't a one off from a private seller. Thoughts?

I have been looking to pick one of these up as well. at $695, it's a score if legit.

if they have 2 (and let me know who they are) I would love to grab one!!

It is a good deal if it's not resealed. No, they did not come shrink wrapped out of the case

As mentioned, they were not sealed and I would be looking to examine every single pack before I dropped a dime on it. I suspect there's a reason it was "sealed". If the seller wasn't willing to unseal it so I could see the packs I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole.

For items like this I always have the buyer send the box to BBCE for authentication. Sometimes just telling the seller this will make them back out of the deal, in which case you've saved time and money.
