National Loot

As always, the best part of the National is not what you see or buy, or see others buy, but catching up with friends and making new ones.
I won't name names in order to protect the innocent (and in case I forget anyone). But I had a great time talking cards, sports, life with a bunch of people.
Here is a group photo of the loot I brought home:
And some close ups
Mostly rookies (and a few Jim Browns)
Some autos, PSA graded FB Cello packs, and a second year Tittle
Can't wait for the next one!
A few wax and cello boxes I picked up, all football except for one.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
I enjoyed meeting you and other great members at CU!!!!
That was quite a haul - I'm still on the road and will post my pickups - nothing like yours tho!!!
Congratulations.
I collect: 80’s Rookies and 86 Fleer Basketball
<< <i>Mike, great seeing you at the PSA luncheon as always. At least you got all the humor. >>
Unfortunately for me, I was starting to nod off at the luncheon - well kinda.
I noticed a few heading for the door and if they hadn't - fortunately - wrapped it up? I'm sure there would've been more.
For me, I compare the luncheon to being on the floor, going to the john and then hitting the hand drying blower - no one ever goes the distance.
Are those two 77 unopened wax boxes!? I love all the pickups, especially the 81 wax box and the Jim Brown cards. Thanks for sharing.
Eta: Are those also two 89 Pro Set II boxes!? Super fun rip. I ripped a box a couple months ago and it was a blast. Like a time machine! I finally got my grades and I popped a PSA 10 Barry from my box. Should be getting my card next week.
But there ought to be a rule about having 1977/1979/1981 Topps Football wax boxes pictured separately from the likes of 1989/1990/1991 Topps Football cello boxes!
The 1977, 1979, & 1981 boxes aren't BBCE wrapped... but at least a couple look to have cellophane wrap. Old school BBCE plain cellophane wrapped?
That 62T card is easily my favorite Jimmy Brown card. Such a great set, but those unforgiving black borders and centering issues keep me away from chasing it.
Also love that 2nd year Tittle. Both Tittle and 1951 Bowman don't seem to get as much hobby love as they deserve.
Agree with others on 1989 Pro Set II boxes... the price point makes them hard to beat for cheap nostalgic fun with that terrific rookie crop.
So for the unopened stuff... what are you planning on ripping vs. keeping sealed?
Snorto~
Seriously, great haul. Nice 79 FB cello. Although, the only thing I see wrong with the pictures is their is WAY to much Indians stuff and no Reds items.

Great seeing you Mr Jim Brown
WTB: PSA 1 - PSA 3 Centered, High Eye Appeal 1950's Mantle
Loving the 70s football...and that 62 Brown in particular.
Nice work.

Next year will be here before we know it.
But I have promises to keep,

Any unopened Baseball cello and rack packs and boxes from the 1970's and early 1980s.
<< <i>My National is never complete without seeing Mike each day. Great haul of unopened, but those Jimmy Browns ain't bad either.
Next year will be here before we know it. >>
Easy to say when you're a youngster Mike.
I'm getting a bit protective of those years at this point.
