Like my 1970's decade signed Cincinnati Reds project, I necided to tackle the 1960s decade. After doing some research, I decided that I would give the 60's Yanks a try. Unfortunately, (due to cost), that means Mantle, Maris and Berra. But they are out there for a price, and I'll be happy with one of each when the time comes. I didn't pick the 70's Yanks for this project due to the difficulty obtaining a signed Thurman Munson card.

PSAs set registry lists 376 cards for this set. Current Tally: 74/376

Sometimes the obscure players are tougher and more expensive than stars too, same goes for tougher cards that are SPs or High numbers (if you are trying to get ALL cards signed). Not familiar enough with all of the 60s Yankees cards to know if you have any real toughies. Howard should go along with the big three though, as he can be more expensive.

I am not trying to get them all per se, but I pick up unique Dodgers whenever I can get them. My toughest 60s cards would probably be the 1963 Ken McMullen (Rose RC), 1966 Bart Shirley (SP Hi #) and 1965 Dodgers Rookies (Dennis Daboll). I assume the last one may not even exist. Then just to make it interesting, toss in all the Koufax & Drysdale cards.

Interesting project. Mantle & Maris will cost ya, as will Ellie Howard. Wonder how much the 1960 Topps Stengel will run; can't be a whole lot of those in existence. Good luck and I look forward to watching your progress!!

Thanks my goal is to get one year complete, most likely 62 since I have a decent start so far. But we will see how it goes, going to need some luck along with the $$$$

Thanks, my second return recently, first time I sent with blue sharpie and got them back in blue sharpie. I figured he would still be using it this time, but got ball point. Its all good, the '61 turned out great, the '60 is a little light in hand.

$35 donation (each) to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. I made check out to WELS.

Mike ... I remember him playing for the Dodgers but had NO IDEA he was on the Yankees. SOOOO, I looked it up and saw that he had ONE PLATE APPEARANCE in his CAREER for the Yankees ... that was in 1969.

I love the 1960 Topps Yankees, and actually have a team signed set, myself. As you probably know, the key card to all of these sets is the Duke Maas - insanely tough to find. I used to have a 1961 Topps, which I sold years ago for around $1k. I've been lucky enough to find 2 1960 Topps Maas cards.
